These images combine chemigram techniques with analogue photography. Developed candle photographs and test prints form the base of this set. Bleach has been scrubbed and poured over the top to create chaos and destruction as it unpredictably removed layers of the paper. The manner in which the bleach was applied dictated the movement and overall feeling within the image.
The concept looks into capturing the emotion and feeling of an image (in this case the candle is the object), and representing that emotion on another level (that being the bleach affected areas). These affected areas evoke a sense of heat, burning and dripping, all of which is associated with a candle. This duality is what is key within this set of photos.
