This photo series aims to challenge gender norms and gender role stereotypes through playful commentary. It aims to provoke thought about what modern day society considers the norm and instills within the viewer an insight into what life could be like.
Barbies were used as a representation of what is seen by society as perfect, innocent, and are idolised (most girls growing up wish to be just like their Barbie doll). Taking such a figure out of context and displaying them in such opposing, out of the ordinary ways creates more impact for thought.
